Week I – A Body’s Reaction to Food

Food affects how we feel. The process of eating and feeding the body is associated with dopamine neurotransmitter. Science knows that there is no uniform body chemistry which means each person deciding to detox may need a different detox diet that focuses on the way they live and their food related choices.

A Generic program may not work for them.

During the Health Storey detox shared here and on the health coach blog, the health coach shares the experience of resetting her body chemistry. ( A body which is assumed to be healthy.)

Because there are different types of body resets and detox focus lengths, Health Storey has chosen the length of time it takes to reset the dopamine levels in the brain. This timeframe, ninety days, is an estimated timeframe which clinics, through their vast experience, have set as a baseline time to accomplish a dopamine reset.

Because there is no way to directly test dopamine levels and health focused clinics spend ninety days resetting dopamine, we are using that number of days as a benchmark for resetting a person body without addiction’s to a chemical substance or environmental factor.

Week 1 Day 2 Food Choices Health Storey – 90 day detox

  • Coffee with milk (no milk allergy or dairy issues)
  • Three eggs poached
  • Three cups yellow miso soup from one paste packet
  • Salad with balsamic vinegar dressing
  • Jello dessert (1 -4 purchased at store)

Definition of Dopamine:

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter involved in rewarding our body. This specific neurotransmitter sends messages back and forth inside the body rewarding and motivating.  The body naturally creates dopamine but this neurotransmitter may be interfered with and the body may be stressed by overproduction.

Health Storey focuses on resetting dopamine levels through wellness coaching.

Because there is no simple way to measure the level of dopamine in the brain, an indirect way of measuring the level of neurotransmitters is a medical blood test and we request clients to have the blood test at their general care doctor to set a benchmark for their wellness timetable.

Note: The jello is already made. We purchased a mixed jello desert to keep the diet simple. Making jello is easy. We will try during week two to reduce the calories and make our own jello from a package.
